The Virtues in Confucianism and Chinese cultures

The core value of virtues is to do the right thing and be good to others.

The cardinal virtues in Confucianism and Chinese cultures:-

禮 : the attitudes to others, disciplines in life, considerate and respect others
義 : righteousness, justice, things that won’t harm others, (against因利忘義)
廉 : not greedy, incorrupt, self-interests not before others
恥 : integrity, shamefulness, self-aware of things not good to others.
忠 : faithfulness, loyalty to others
信 : honesty, truthfulness to others
仁 : benevolence, kindness, thoughtfulness to others
愛 : love, passions to others

孝悌 : filial piety and respect for the elder
和平 : peacefulness (against anger, wrath, bad tempers)
謙遜 : humility, humble (against pride)
忍讓 : patience, self-control, liberality (against selfishness)
智勇 : wisdom and courage, (to do the right thing and be good to others)
勤奮 : diligence (against sloth)
儉噗 : thrifty
貞節 : chastity (against lust,)
節制 : abstinence, temperance ( against gluttony,)
道德 : acts not harming others
恕道 : forgiveness
恭敬 : respectfulness, reverent
宽厚 : lenient, not mean
聰敏 : smart (to do the right thing and good to others)
賢惠、kind, virtuous
温良、warm, good to others
誠懇、sincere, honest
慈憫、kind, caring, pity for others
刚強、strong (to do the right thing and be good to others)
堅毅、endurance (to do the right thing and be good to others)
正直、integrity
克己、self-control (to do the right thing and be good to others)
中庸 : not to be extreme (to do the right thing and be good to others)
谨慎 : cautious, careful
知足 : not greedy for impractical desires, be contented and value for what you have.
榮譽 :
The highest honor and glory is from doing the right thing better than others.
The honors have to conform to one’s virtues. (against 虛榮 false glory)
Be proud for your knowledge and virtues better than others.
Be proud for your skills and works better than others
Proud not for your riches or affluence better than others.
Proud not for your luck and looks better than others.
Be proud if you have feelings for the poor, the unfortunate and the sick.
